Today was Kayden's first trip to see the doctor other than her well visit check-ups. We have been very blessed b/c Kayden has been extremely healthy. She has had a little runny nose or cough here and there, but this time she was very sick. Last Tuesday, Kayden went in for her 2 year check up and she looked great, weighing in at 28 lbs and measuring 35 inches long. On Wednesday she ran a low grade fever which is normal after having shots. Then on Thursday she woke up with a fever again so I called the nurse and she said that it is common for kids to have a fever up to 3 days after their shots. So Thursday she was feeling a little better and then Friday she began coughing and having a runny nose which I thought was from the change of weather so I gave her some medicine and she seemed to be doing fine. Then Sunday night Kayden coughed and coughed something horrible all night long so today I took her in because her cough was getting worse and come to find out she has a slight ear infection in her left ear and has pneumonia. My poor little girl. She is taking her first antibiotic and should start feeling better soon. A day home with daddy tomorrow laying around and watching movies should be just what the doctor ordered.
